Bala Lake is an ideal location for cruiser sailing. There are no tides, no submerged rocks and you are never more than half a mile from shore. The lake is nearly four miles long, almost a mile wide and set amongst beautiful mountain scenery.

Currently the fleet has 20 boats on moorings and many more are day launched. Jetties are available to facilitate launching, boarding and recovery.

Mid week cruising is popular and fun competitions and training are available.

The National Park allows any boat with a waterline length of under 20ft, but as the lake is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, cruisers may only use electric outboards and sleeping aboard is not allowed.
