As the sailing season
starts the fleet numbers 16 boats. The fleet has been growing steadily
over the last few years. The popularity of L2Ks at Bala perhaps reflects
the growth of the class in the UK with more than two thousand boats
sold in ten years. Laser 2000s appeal to families and racers alike.
The strong Class Association runs an active racing circuit but also
a family orientated "L2K play". Five boats from Bala attended
the 2007 nationals which were held at Abersoch. This year the nationals
will be at Penzance SC, August 10th -15th 2008. |

Laser 2000 Fun in the
Sun On Saturday the 2nd August commencing 10:30 we are planning an L2K day with race training, buddy system of help and some short course racing. We may even try a bit of team racing just for fun, or even a trip down the lake. This will be followed by an evening BBQ (bring your own food) and an odd drink or two! You cannot afford to miss this day otherwise the competition will end up miles ahead after all the skills they will have learnt. Put it in your diary now and don’t miss out. Lets see how many 2000’s we can get on the water on one day |

Rigging Manuals Laser has an updated rigging manual available for download (see links section). The new manual has better illustrations, colour pictures and information relating to the newer masts and spreaders. A copy has been left in the club house, along with the old version. Also, for the Class Association members only, there are several tuning guides and top tips articles available online, see the library section. |
