Notice of Race

1. Place & Date
Bala Sailing Club, Monday 4th to Friday 8th August 2008

The Organising Authority is Bala Sailing Club.

2. Rules
Racing will be governed by the ISAF RRS, the relevant Class Rules and the Bala Sailing Club, Sailing Instructions 2008.

2.1 Racing Charter
Competitors should note that Bala Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter and that they will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book (Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 - 2008).

2.2 Liability Limit
The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/person in charge who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise in the course of the race. The race organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury however caused to the owner/person in charge or crew, as a result of their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/person in charge, warrants the suitability of the boat for the race or races. This condition does not override any statutory rights.

3. Condition of Entry
The event is open to all centreboard classes, RS K6 and Flying Fifteens.
The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme as set out in the current YR2 will be used.
The Race Officer may decide to split the entries into the following classes dependant on number.
Entries by persons under 18yrs old must be counter signed by their parent or guardian.

4. Rights to Use Names & Likenesses
Competitors automatically grant to Bala Sailing Club without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of or relating to the event.

5. Programme Outline - Full Programme will be available at the start of the week
A Regatta series consiting of 9 races with 5 to count and 4 indervidula pursuit races
Monday - Registration from 9:30hrs - Briefing at 10:35hrs each day

Racing will commence at 11:00hrs each day with pursuit race taking place in the afternoon and Pico team racing at around 16:30hrs.

Fun and Games will be available during the week as the emphasis is on having a good time as well as racing. Entertainment in the Club House in the evenings.

On Tuesday, Wednseday or Thursday the race will to Llanngower, a picnic lunch, then race back to Bala SC.

Prize Giving for all activities Friday 19:00hrs in the Club House

Family units without sailing entrants are requested to make a minimum contribution of £10.00 per family unit towards the clubs running costs.

Free sailing on Saturday & Sunday before and after the Family Week if Pre-Entered for Family Week.
