Notice of Race

1. Place & Date
Bala Sailing Club, Saturday 24th to Monday 26th May 2008

The Organising Authority is Bala Sailing Club.

2. Rules
Racing will be governed by the ISAF RRS, the relevant Class Rules and the Bala Sailing Club, Sailing Instructions 2008.

2.1 Racing Charter
Competitors should note that Bala Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter and that they will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book (Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 - 2008).

2.2 Liability Limit
The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/person in charge who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise in the course of the race. The race organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury however caused to the owner/person in charge or crew, as a result of their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/person in charge, warrants the suitability of the boat for the race or races. This condition does not override any statutory rights.

3. Condition of Entry
The event is open to all Laser 2000 dinghhies. Competitors should be members of the Laser 2000 Class Association.
Entries by persons under 18yrs old must be counter signed by their parent or guardian.

4. Rights to Use Names & Likenesses
Competitors automatically grant to Bala Sailing Club without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of or relating to the event.

5. Programme - 7 Race Event
Saturday - Registration from 10:00hrs - Briefing at 11:45hrs
Boat Tuning and set up commencing at 12:00hrs.
1st Race Start at 13:30hrs - Subject to weather conditions this will be a long distance race (approx 8miles) taking in the beautiful Bala lake and surrounding scenery. Returning to the club house for refreshments and briefing of the coaching session. On water coaching session.

Sunday
1st Race Start at 10.30am
The 2K’s will have a separate start and join in with the 3 scheduled Regatta races around the cans.

Monday
1st Race Start at 10.30am
Format for this day will be ‘Turbo Style’ Racing consisting of short windward / leeward courses, 15 minute duration and very fast turnaround between races.

Prize Giving Monday 14:00hrs prompt in the Club House
