Notice of Race

1. Place & Date
Bala Sailing Club, Saturday 5th to Sunday 6th July 2008

The Organising Authority is Bala Sailing Club.

2. Rules
Racing will be governed by the ISAF RRS, the relevant Class Rules and the Bala Sailing Club, Sailing Instructions 2008.

2.1 Racing Charter
Competitors should note that Bala Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter and that they will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book (Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 - 2008).

2.2 Liability Limit
The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/person in charge who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise in the course of the race. The race organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury however caused to the owner/person in charge or crew, as a result of their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/person in charge, warrants the suitability of the boat for the race or races. This condition does not override any statutory rights.

3. Condition of Entry

Saturday Long Distance Handicap Race
The event is open to all boats with an established PY number.
The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme as set out in the current YR2 will be used.
Fast Handicap Fleet for PY up to and including 1099
Slow Handicap Fleet for PY from and including 1100
Asymmetric Fleet for all Asymmetric Fleet Boats

Sunday Long Distance Pursuit Race
The event is open to all boats with an established PY number below 1200 and Flying Fifteens. Classes above this will be permitted to enter but will have to sail to PY 1200.
The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme as set out in the current YR2 will be used.

Entries by persons under 18yrs old must be counter signed by their parent or guardian.

4. Rights to Use Names & Likenesses
Competitors automatically grant to Bala Sailing Club without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of or relating to the event.

5. Programme
Saturday -
Registration from 10am - Briefing at 11.00am
Race Start 12noon
Length of Race 3 hours for lead boat in each class.
The whole length of the lake will be used.

Prize Giving - In the club house within 1hour of last boat finishing.

Sunday - Registration from 9:30am - Briefing at 11.00am
Pursuit Race Start 12noon for PY 1200
Length of Race 3 hours for lead boat in each class.
The whole length of the lake will be used.

Prize Giving - In the club house within 1hour of last boat finishing.
