Team Prizes at Bala SC During 2008

In addition to the traditional class & fleet competitions at the this year's Long Distance events (5th & 6th July), Whitsun (24th - 26th May) and August (23rd - 25th August) Bank Holiday Regattas, Bala Sailing Club will also be awarding Club Team prizes for the first time. To qualify clubs will need a minimum of 5 entrants (there is no maximum) spread across any of the various fleets. Competitors individual race by race results in all fleets will then be extracted and compiled into a separate team results table for the event. The team with the lowest score across the respective event wins.

It is hoped that this will help reward the loyalty shown by a large number of clubs that have used Bala Sailing Club as an 'away day' venue year after year. This is never so poignant as in the year the club celebrates it's 50th anniversary and looks forward to a busy and popular future with the continued support of it's many friends.

As usual the club will be working extremely hard to ensure that all visitors, whether they are part of a team or not, have a brilliant time and take part in some first class competitions. Already this year the Bala SC has played host to hugely successful RS400 Northern Circuit and 420 Worlds & Junior European Selector events. In the coming months the club will also hold Blaze, Laser 2000, Miracle Welsh Area, Tinker, Solo, Solution, Flying Fifteen, Scorpion and Junior opens before ending the 2008 season with the GP14 Inland National Championships which will take place over the first weekend in October.
