Q. Since you changed the layout of the site I can't find the particular page I want to view, how do I find it?
A. Click on the 'Site Map' link at the bottom of any page and you will see all the main content pages and how the pages are laid out in relation to one another.
Q. I'm having problems viewing this site on my monitor, what resolution should I have it set to and what software do I need?
A. This site is best viewed at minimum a resolution of 1024 x 768 with a version 5 web browser (or better - Firefox, Opera, Explorer), together with Acrobat Reader 5 (or better), Flash Viewer 5 (or better) and Quicktime 7 (or better). Additionally, because this site is regularly updated, your web browser should be set to refresh it'scache at least once per visit.
Q. I'm having a problem accessing the site, and something is not working correctly, who do I contact?
A. Please use the 'Webmaster' link on the 'Contact' page to send any information on faults, or problems you are having with the site - please state what operating system and software you are using.
Q. How do I send photographs, video, articles or letters to the site?
A. Please send them to the webmaster via webmaster@balasc.org.uk making sure you give the name of the person who produced them so we can give credit for their contribution. In the case of video please contact the webmaster before sending anything, to discuss the most appropriate transfer method. |
SAILING
Q. How do I find out what boats are sailed at Bala Sailing Club and information about them?
A. Go to the 'Information' area and click on 'Fleets'. When you see a fleet that takes your fancy simply click on the picture for more details.
Q. My class/club would like to hold an event at Bala Sailing Club, who do I contact?
A. Please send your request to the 'Visiting Club/Class Co-ordinator' via the e-mail link provided on the 'Club Officers' page.
Q. Can I camp or stay in my mobile home at Bala Sailing Club?
A. Local rules do not allow tents, caravans or camper vans to be used on the Bala Sailing Club property. No vehicles are to be used for overnight sleeping. All competitors at open events agree to be bound by the Bye-Laws of Bala Sailing Club.
Q. Are there any chandlery facilities at Bala SC?
A. There are
none on the club site, however Bala Water Sports caters for canoeists and kayakers and they provide some equipment suitable for sailing.
Q. Does the club teach junior members to sail?
A. Yes, Bala Sailing Club has a very active and excellent Youth Squad that handles youth training and development. See the Bala SC 'Junior Training' page.

ADVERTISING
Q. How do I place an advert on the site?
A. Please send details of the advert required, via the advert form accessed from the 'Submit Advert' link on the 'Adverts' page.
Q. I wish to delete my advert on the 'Adverts' page who do I tell?
A. Please send a short note via the 'Webmaster' link on the 'Contact' page giving brief details of the original advert saying the advert is no longer wanted.
Q. When I responded to an advert it was no longer current, who do I tell?
A. Please send a short note via the 'Webmaster' link on the 'Contact' page telling us which advert it is.
Q. My company is interested in advertising with Bala Sailing Club, who do I contact?
A. Please send all enquiries to the 'Commodore' via the e-mail link on the 'Contact' page. |
MEMBERSHIP
Q. I'm unable to do the duty that has been allocated to me, who do I contact?
A. Send an e-mail to the 'Duty Roster' co-ordinator via the e-mail link on the 'Club Officers' page - please give an absolute minimum 48 hours notice.
Q. How do I join the Bala Sailing Club and what membership categories are available?
A. Click on the 'Join Bala SC' link in the 'Information' area, download the 'Membership Form', complete and return to the address provided together with your full remittance. Alternatively speak to any of the Committee members next time you visit the Club, they will be only too willing to help you.
Q. From what date does Membership of the Club commence?
A. Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December.
Q. Since taking out Membership my details have changed (e.g. address, boat number, boat name, contact details) what should I do?
A. Send an e-mail via the 'Membership Secretary' e-mail link on the 'Contact' page, stating your name and the first line of your old postal address, followed by the full details you wish to be updated.
Q. I would like to suggest a change to the Club rules, who do I contact and what is the process?
A. Please send your suggestion, together with the name of the Proposer, who must be a full member of the club, to the 'Secretary' via the e-mail link provided on the 'Club Officers' page. Any suggestions received before the 31st of August, will be included in that years AGM Agenda so that it can go before the membership for consideration.
